We were asked many questions, including what are some of this years trends, what does planning an upscale wedding involve and many more insightful questions into the life of a wedding planner! They contacted past and present clients as well as vendors to hear first hand how it is working with Pure Potential Weddings!

This will be a weekly article that will feature either a new idea, trend, tip, etc…all things to help make your wedding day that much better! Be sure to subscribe to the blog to make sure you don’t miss out on any of these “diamonds!”
Here is our first “Diamond” for you! Happy reading!
In many wedding ceremonies, there are many items of tradition that take place. There is a processional where the bride enters, there are vows that are shared between husband and wife and there is usually a candle lighting ceremony that symbolizes the uniting of two people as one.
While some traditions are worth keeping, it might be nice to change up others in an effort to not only be creative, but to add more meaning and personalization to your ceremony.
This idea definitely embodies both of those ideas! Let me introduce you to a ring warming ceremony! This can be done instead of a traditional unity candle or the ever-so-popular sand ceremony.
Not only is this a beautifully creative new tradition, it is also a great way to get your guests involved in a special part of your wedding.
Here is how it works:
As the ceremony begins, have the officiant make an announcement that the wedding rings will be making their way through the guests so that each guest can hold them and say a prayer or blessing over the couples rings. You can someone monitor this to make sure they continue to be passed around. I would also suggest putting the rings in a box or sheer bag or even tied to a pillow in order to keep them from being dropped or misplaced. As the rings make their way through the crowd, each guest is welcomed to hold the rings close to their hearts and say a short prayer or blessing over these rings. The idea is that by the time it comes to the ring exchange in the ceremony, each guest has had a chance to hold the rings and bless them.

This is a great way to get your guests involved in your wedding and a truly beautiful memory all of them will share with you for the rest of your lives!
This idea doesn’t come without its complications, especially if it is a larger group. However, if this idea is something that sounds interesting to you, go ahead and try it! Your guests will remember it forever and you will be able to feel all their love, blessings and support as you stand there and commit yourself to each other!
If you have your own unique story to share like this about something you did that was slightly unusual in your wedding, I would love to hear it! Send me an email at christine@purepotentialweddings.ca and see yourself featured on our blog!
Happy planning!
